Johansen, Mads K.

The fact that Mads grew up in a small Danish village close to the local nature was then a quite clear prerequisite for his affection to natural materials. Forest was his playground, where he made a lot of wooden things as a little boy. Reportedly, the best gift for him was a set of tools for processing wood and logs with which he repaired his play house. Mads has always enjoyed exploring new forms and specifics of working with wood.

Mads worked as an artistic carpenter for a long time. He also made his living as a carpenter or even a furniture salesman. Recently, he has graduated from the Danish Design School and begun his work as a designer in various parts of the world - from American Dallas, through Munich to Norwegian Oslo. His final diploma work was the Stockholm chair, a basis for his complete comprehensive Stockholm collection.
