Velčovský, Maxim

Maxim Velčovský (1976), graduate from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, deals with the design of products and relationship to their environment.

In 2002 he co-founded the Qubus design studio. His art is characterized by a specific work with the context, Velčovský often gives new meaning to old objects (this process is called "restarting"). He participated in dozens of exhibitions and his works are included in collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, New Pinakothek in Munich and Mudac in Lausanne. In 2007 he received the Designer of the Year award for his work.
